Canelo Alvarez vs Tyron Woodley

Let’s say Canelo is given at least a year to get the basics of grappling down, how awesome would a fight between he and UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley be? Two very big punchers just wailing away at each other with everything they’ve got. The prospect of such a matchup is truly mind-blowing.
Canelo has a tremendous chin but Woodley can certainly crack. It would be an absolute war for five rounds. Can you imagine Canelo with 4 oz. gloves? Scary thought.
Woodley would certainly be the more dynamic striker. But Canelo’s left hook is otherworldly. If Woodley gets hit with one of those, it’s pretty much over for him.
The UFC champ would have to take Canelo to the mat. But if Canelo had enough training and could get his wrestling to a decent point, he would have to be favored to win — even in MMA.
