Not every professional sports career ends with a happy ending. Many pro sports stars end up broke and a mess after their careers have concluded. The story of former heavyweight Brett “Da Grim” Rogers is one such case.

Rogers, now 35, was an experienced heavyweight who actually did pretty well for himself. Seven years ago he knocked out Andrei Arlovski in just 22 seconds. That led to a showdown with legend Fedor Emelianenko.

Although he lost to The Last Emperor, Rogers would go on to compete against the likes of Alistair Overeem, and had a solid stint with Bellator shortly after. But oh what a turn of events it has been.

Brett Rogers Used To Kick Butt In The Cage

Rogers is now apparently living on the streets, while facing various cases of sexual misconduct. As reported by the Pioneer Press, Rogers is currently homeless and living in the basement of the George Latimer Central Library.

He was accused of groping a library employee in an elevator, one of the complaints read. The employee allegedly slapped Rogers’ hand away. And asked Rogers what he was doing. Rogers didn’t respond and just exited the elevator like nothing happened.

Another incident reported that Rogers asked a man standing next to him at the bathroom urinal if he wanted to have sex in the bathroom stalls. When the man declined, Rogers grabbed his butt. The man reported the incident to the police.

CCTV footage shows Rogers and the man entering and exiting the bathroom.

Now All He Wants To Do Is Grope Them

Another incident happened in jail when Rogers was brought in for the previous offenses. Rogers allegedly groped and fondled his cellmate while he was sleeping. His cellmate chose not to alert the guards after officials described Rogers as the “biggest and strongest dude in the jail”. The man only reported the incident when he was released from his cell.

Rogers has of course denied these allegations.

It’s sad to hear Rogers go down this path, butt it happens. Here’s to hoping he’s still able to get his life together before he ends up behind bars for good.

Rogers last competed in March of 2015, losing a decision to Derrick Mehmen at Abu Dhabi Warriors 2.
