McGregor and the UFC Get Into a Messy Legal Battle
One less exciting possibility is the threat of a long and messy legal battle. McGregor is of course still under contract with the UFC. As their lightweight titleholder, McGregor is also under time pressure to defend his belt else have it stripped once more.
Getting into a legal battle with the UFC could put McGregor on the shelf. He might not see action for a very long time. It all appears to be reaching towards a bitter end no matter what happens. Adding a legal aspect to the whole mess just complicates things.
Imagine if McGregor, at 28-years-old, wastes his prime years appearing in court opposite White who continues to make millions regardless. That’s not a pretty picture for McGregor or MMA and UFC fans in general.
