According to Dana White, UFC 202 is trending to be bigger than any other UFC PPV in history. That shouldn’t be too surprising however, as the last time Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz main evented a PPV it was the highest grossing show in UFC history. Technically UFC 100 was purchased by more people and establishments than UFC 196, with that event reaching 1.6 million buys and 196 getting 1.5 million buys, but the difference in PPV cost makes 196 the higher grossing event.
2016 has been an epic year for mixed martial arts. So far this year we have seen UFC 200, the landmark $4 billion dollar sale of the company, 7 UFC title changes, and if Dana White is correct, UFC 202 and UFC 196 could be the two highest grossing shows in company history- all in under 8 months.
UFC 202 may very well be the next big moment in a truly epic year.
