UFC 151 remains in the record books as an event that never took place. Since marketing materials are produced in advance it becomes difficult to push back all the numbers of events when a card gets cancelled last minute, so UFC 151 exists in the history books despite never happening.
Henderson had to pull out of the fight with 8 days notice, and Jones evidently turned down a replacement fight against Chael Sonnen on the advice of his coach Greg Jackson. The conspiracy theory is that Sonnen knew Henderson was going to pull out in advance and had been training and preparing for a fight with Jones.
Jackson, feeling as though a last minute fight with Sonnen would put Jones at a disadvantage, advised him not to take the fight. Without a suitable main event the show was cancelled, and Dana White was not pleased about it.
