2. UFC 61 (July 8th 2006)
This is the only fight card that was so unsatisfying it necessitated the UFC throwing together another show and airing it free on TV to compensate the fans.
An entire season of The Ultimate Fighter had been built around how much Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz hate each other, and UFC 61 was to be the payoff to that. Unfortunately an early questionable stoppage failed to satisfy the fans who paid to see the rivalry come to a climax. White had to quickly organize “UFC Fight Night 6.5” where Ortiz and Shamrock would meet again, and this time there were no doubts about the stoppage.
