Floyd Mayweather Sr. Facing Police Charges After Allegedly Dragging a Woman From His Car and Punching Her…
Despite his remarkable legacy in the boxing ring, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is remembered for something else. He’s faced numerous allegations of domestic violence, casting a blemish upon his personal character. Controversy seems to come with the Mayweather name.
Unfortunately, domestic violence allegations have raised their head again. However, this time his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. is facing police charges after he allegedly punched a woman. While his son has been in this situation before, it is a first for the 65-year-old.
Although a warrant was issued for his arrest over a week ago, Mayweather Sr. has yet to hand himself to the police. The veteran boxing trainer is denying that he hit the alleged victim (who shall remain nameless) and is insisting that he has done nothing wrong.

Attacked In August?
Floyd Sr. will be familiar to many younger boxing fans as one of his son’s trainers last year for the fight against Conor McGregor. Nicknamed the ‘Poet Laureate’ of boxing, he has had a tumultuous relationship with his son, and infamously his brother Roger who shot him in the leg, back in 1978.
According to TMZ, the alleged attack occurred on the night of the Gennady Golovkin super fight against Canelo Alvarez. That took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas back in August.
Despite Law Enforcement stating that the attack took place in the early hours of the morning of the 17th September, Mayweather Sr. is denying all charges. The Mayweather family are based in Las Vegas, with Mayweather Jr. opening his strip club, Girl Collection, in Sin City last year.

Alleged Assault.
With regards to the actual alleged assault itself, the details are pretty intense. TMZ Sports says that the alleged victim was going to Mayweather Sr.’s car when they got into a dispute. Allegedly he told her to leave his car and physically dragged her when she refused.
Unfortunately, the reading gets worse for Floyd Sr. It is further alleged that he punched her leg as soon as he managed to get her out of the vehicle. Then it is claimed that he simply abandoned her and drove off, leaving her to fend for herself.
Character Reference
However, allegedly the woman was hospitalized after suffering minor injuries. This resulted in Floyd Sr. being charged by the authorities with misdemeanor battery. Despite the alleged claims, the character of the boxing stalwart has been defended.
Showtime boxing promoter Bob Arum has come out in defense of the elder Mayweather, as can be seen in the video above.
“She’s trying to extort money and she’s angry because she’s not getting the money from Floyd,” said Arum. “It’s not going the way she wants it to go.”
It’s not the sort of news that Floyd Jr. would want to hear after all his widely documented indiscretions in the past. Particularly in these highly charged times when more and more women are speaking out against their more socially powerful accusers. We can only wait and see what unfolds next in this story.
