
UFC President Dana White announced a complete overhaul of the UFC’s drug testing policy in 2015. The new revamped system has had a profound effect on the sport since its inception.
A handful of fighters have been popped for doping and given lengthy suspensions for their actions. Other fighters, such as Vitor Belfort and Junior dos Santos, have shown up looking vastly different than before. Speculation has continued regarding these fighters who didn’t quite pass the “smell test” for performance enhancing drugs.

Today, former UFC fighter Fabio Maldonado made a statement about his prior use of a banned substance while fighting in the UFC. Maldonado was released from the UFC in November, holding a 5-6 record in the promotion. He is now on track to fight MMA Legend Fedor Emelianenko in Russia on June 17.
