UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic sent out his first Tweet since UFC 218 today. Francis Ngannou didn’t take kindly to what Miocic said and fired right back…
During the UFC 218 co-main event this past Saturday, the UFC heavyweight division got shook up. Facing Alistair Overeem in his first major test in the octagon, Francis Ngannou passed with flying colors.
Experienced and extremely dangerous, ‘The Reem’ was hoping to take out the rising prospect. What transpired will likely be the front-runner for ‘knockout of the year.’ Launching a monstrous left uppercut, Ngannou sent Overeem straight to the shadow realm.
It was truly a shattering knockout, one of the greatest in heavyweight history. UFC president Dana White had confirmed the winner of this bout would face Stipe Miocic for the title.
Since winning the belt from Fabricio Werdum at UFC 198, Miocic has defended against Overeem and Junior dos Santos. Until Ngannou came around, there were few legitimate contenders for Miocic at 265 pounds.
Miocic Wasn’t Impressed
Although Francis ‘Debo’ Ngannou basically re-enacted the stolen bicycle scene from the hit movie ‘Friday,’ one man wasn’t blown away. Heavyweight boss Stipe Miocic had a simple response to the brutal beating of Ubereem.
Taking to Twitter, the fan favorite champ pointed out who was still the champ. Miocic had also previously Tweeted ‘big win, congrats…to the Bucks.’ at the exact moment Ngannou beat Reem:

Ngannou didn’t hang around getting his response in. Although many have discussed Miocic as a future legend in the sport, Ngannou believes Stipe is the ‘interim champion.’

“I just want to tell Stipe I am coming, I am on my way to take my belt,” said “The Predator” during his post-fight interview Megan Olivi.
“I really thank him for keeping that belt for me but he’s going to give it back. He was just the interim champion, but the real champion is here, the real champ is coming.
“The match against Stipe, the same way, knockout. There are no other possibilities for me but a knockout.
“I just go get myself ready for easy fight and go back home. I am not for three or four round right, just a quick knockout and I go back home.”
