Oddsmakers believe Justin Gaethje will be able to retain his BMF title when he faces Max Holloway at UFC 300 in April.
Gaethje and Holloway will meet on April 13 to fight for the BMF title of UFC. As the reigning king of the title, this would be a match for Gaethje to defend the belt. And according to the oddsmakers, he has a huge chance of succeeding again this time. According to DraftKings, “The Highlight” is the -225 favorite in the match, which means the amount of $225 could give bettors $100 in return when he wins. Meanwhile, oddsmakers say Holloway is the +185 underdog, so bettors can expect $185 in return when they gamble their $100.
This is not a surprise as Gaethje is the current owner of the title and also boasts an impressive record as the No. 2-ranked fighter in the lightweight division. The 35-year-old is also coming from a two-fight winning streak he obtained from Dustin Poirier and Rafael Fiziev.
Holloway, one of the best in the featherweight division, is also boasting a two-fight winning streak. However, he will be making adjustments in his next fight as he will have to come back to the lightweight division for the second time. This, nonetheless, means that he will be an easy fight for Gaethje as “Blessed” is presently the No. 1-ranked fighter in his division, thanks to his impressive record with the names he faced in the past, including Alexander Volkanovski, Anthony Pettis, Dustin Poirier, Charles Oliveira, and Conor McGregor.
This will be the third time the company will hold its BMF match after the first was won by Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 in 2019 when he defeated Nate Diaz. The second one was a match between Gaethje and Poirier at UFC 291, with the former beating “The Diamond.” Now, with Holloway returning to lightweight, Gaethje will test his skill again to retain his BMF status.
