Oscar De La Hoya And Dana White are Feuding… Khabib Nurmagamedov’s Manager Has Come Up With a Novel Solution…
Dana White and Oscar De La Hoya’s beef shows no signs of overcooking. The two men are going at it like two furious toddlers arguing over who gets to play with their Barbie doll first. It all kicked off when De La Hoya rattled White’s cage about fighter pay structures.
White responded furiously. The UFC has a monopoly on the game and effective controls labour costs in the sport. Goldenboy MMA paid their two headline fighters $250k each, and other undercard fighters less than $5000. However, Oscar De La Hoya thinks he can preach to the masses. De La Hoya responded by challenging White to a boxing match.
Now Ali Abdelaziz thinks he has a solution to their problem. The MMA manager is able to sniff out opportunities like a rat finding food. He wants Khabib Nurmagamedov to fight Canelo Alvarez.
Furious
In the footage above you can see just how infuriated White is by De La Hoya, who he consistently calls a liar and an idiot. He’s got a point. White passionately defends the way the UFC treats their athletes. He says:
“The guy wants to act like he’s my competitor. I have a real business that I’ve built over the last 18 years. A real business, and I can hit you with numbers for days about [how successful it is]. How much has Oscar De La Hoya reinvested into the sport of boxing? We’ve reinvested millions and millions of dollars and we continue to do it every day. The list goes on and on.
“The guy wants to come out and tell lies and say things that make no sense when he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He knows nothing about this sport. He doesn’t know the [expletive] guys’ names who are fighting on his card. He’s a liar. He’s a phony and God help anybody who wants to go fight for Golden Boy. These fighters are grown men and women. All they have to do is take one meeting with Oscar De La Hoya and they’ll see what he knows about MMA, which is absolutely [expletive] nothing.”

De La Hoya’s mature reaction was to challenge White to a fight. Yeah, like that is going to happen. De La Hoya might be a bit of an idiot, but he was also a phenomenal boxer in his heyday. Meanwhile, White has no professional fighting experience.
“Let’s get in the ring,” De La Hoya said. “Yeah, why not? Let’s get in the ring. Three rounds, let’s do this.”
Not going to happen.

Khabib Nurmagamedov has been looking for a mega-money fight. Even though his dad says he wants him to just focus on MMA, the Russian knows that there are millions to be made in the boxing game. Obviously, Ali Abdelaziz is on board with this, because he tweeted:

Is this going to happen? Nope, probably not. But money does talk.
