Kayla Harrison is no longer with PFL after signing a contract with UFC, CEO Dana White revealed. In line with this, the former PFL champ will have her UFC debut in bantamweight when she faces Holly Holm at the historic UFC 300 event in April.

PFl just lost a big name in its roster after Harrison made a shift in her promotion. This, nonetheless, is not a surprise for some as the fighter already revealed in earlier reports that she had had her last fight in her contract when she defeated Aspen Ladd at the 2023 PFL World Championship last November. Prior to that, PFL’s Donn Davis expressed hope that Harrison would stay and even shared plans for her to fight Bellator’s Cris Cyborg soon. Unfortunately, that fight seems no longer possible, with Harrison now a part of the UFC roster.

This Tuesday, White confirmed the entrance of the female fighter in his company. Interestingly, the world champion judoka is not only making a change in promotion: she will also take her first bantamweight in the UFC. According to the executive, Harrison will join the UFC 300 lineup, where she will face Holm.

The announcement is expected to have a huge impact on PFL, which originally planned to put Harrison against Cyborg for a PPV bout. Cyborg, who is now under PFL due to the company’s recent acquisition, is also pushing the fight but claimed that Harrison’s side refused to take it. The reasons behind it were unknown, but this news has given clarity to the matter.
