Max Holloway will be returning to the lightweight division in his next fight, where he will face Justin Gaethje for the BMF title at UFC 300. However, with his last 155-pound bout being a failure, some are concerned that the April fight will be a challenge for Holloway. “Blessed,” nonetheless, beg to differ, saying the MMA world “will see a difference.”

Holloway will be challenging the current BMF title holder, Gaethje, on April 13, but this is not the only challenge he’ll face. The 32-year-old would also have to make weight adjustments with his return to the 155-pound division, where he last fought Dustin Poirier and lost in 2019. For some, the fighter lost in the lightweight interim title fight at that time due to his size. And now that he’s also facing another huge opponent in Gaethje, fans are fearing the fighter would face the same fate this year.

The No. 1-ranked featherweight fighter, nonetheless, is positive about his decision to take the fight, saying it will bring him more opportunities in the future. As for his size, Holloway is confident that he now possesses the efficient lightweight body size he needs to face Gaethje. The fighter admitted this was not the case when he had his lightweight bout in 2019 but assured fans that it will be different this time.

“My eating habits, my nutritionists, my wife is keeping me in check, and just having the IQ (this time),” Holloway said on ESPN MMA. “I think you guys are going to see a proper-sized person for this one. I feel like (the last one) I was just a big (featherweight). And I hate using excuses, but everybody asks me that question, you know? That was a long time ago. I was just a big (featherweight). You will see a difference on April 13.”
