UFC 197 On-Sale Press Conference

If there’s one type of person you think will be safe from bullying, you’d assumethat’s going to be a mixed martial artist. Of course in their current skill set are ample tools to take out even the biggest bullies, but those weapons haven’t always been there.

Before his fight with Jose Aldo at UFC 194, the current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor revealed he was bullied as a youth. He says it got so bad he had to carry weapons around with him, and it’s actually what made him start martial arts training.

Another UFC champion in Daniel Cormier was also relentlessly bullied as a child. He states that those experiences have driven his success in adult life. He is currently booked to face Jon Jones in the UFC 200 main event, in an attempt to avenge the loss to’Bones’ at UFC 182.
