Ilia Topuria’s brother, Alexandre Topuria, is now part of the UFC roster, and he expects him to follow in his footsteps to “become a UFC world champion, too.”

UFC has added another fighter to its roster by signing another Topuria. The No. 3 featherweight fighter confirmed the arrival of his older brother in the promotion.

Alexandre was given a contract after achieving a three-fight winning streak in the bantamweight division. The 28-year-old recently made his recent success after winning on a regional circuit in Spain, giving him a 5-1 record as a professional.

There’s still no official word from the UFC about Alexandre’s signing to the promotion, but Ilia promised that his brother would make the debut soon.

“After my fight – soon,” Topuria said on ESPN. “Maybe one month after my fight. Something like that. He’s ready, trust me.”

In line with this, Ilia expects that his brother will also dominate in his own weight class. “El Matador” is set to challenge Alexander Volkanovski for his featherweight belt at UFC 298 this weekend, and he believes that Alexandre will also be in the same position in the future. Ultimately, the 27-year-old Spanish is certain that Alexandre will also be a UFC champ, whom the MMA world would love.

“He will become a UFC world champion, too,” Topuria said. “He’s very good, very talented. He’s good everywhere: on the ground, wrestling, striking. Very good style. They’re going to enjoy his style.”
