Joe Rogan triggered by the UFC…

Since winning the middleweight title at UFC 199, Michael Bisping has experienced heavy criticism. According to MMA insider Ariel Helwani, Bisping’s fight bookings have not been up to him, rather the company. Still, fans are not reacting well.

After defeating Luke Rockhold, ‘The Count’ was paired with fringe-ranked Dan Henderson at UFC 204. Bisping won a decision, and all signs pointed to a showdown with Yoel Romero after UFC 205.

Rankings

Currently ranked number one after defeating Chris Weidman, Yoel Romero has been making noise. Up until last week, it was expected that Romero would get his title shot in the coming months.

Then came the news of Georges St-Pierre’s big comeback, and another unranked fighter at 185 getting a title shot. ‘GSP’ faces Bisping for the middleweight title, and the Brit tells FOX Sports about the proposed date for their clash:

Bisping vs. GSP

“It’s looking like July 8,” Bisping said. “Dana’s pushing for July 8. He told me July 8. July 8 would be a good date for me as well. I could fight two months from now. July 8, that works.”

Although it’s certainly a fun fight, this booking has been met with raised eyebrows. At a time when fight bookings are unashamedly made for their marketability, fans are growing tired of the new UFC owners’ perceived greed.

But they aren’t the only ones.
