Jon Jones underwent a second surgery to fix his elbow. According to the heavyweight champ, he wanted to “kill two birds and get this elbow taken care of once and for all” while waiting to recover from the first surgery he had for his torn pectoral muscle.

Jones was supposed to face Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 last November, but the bout didn’t materialize after the fighter suffered from a pectoral muscle injury. This required surgery, which he took, pushing him to stay out of the cage for at least eight months. While waiting, “Bones” decided to fix another issue he had with his elbow.

In his recent update on his Instagram account, Jones shared that he took a second operation while on break. The video was taken an hour after he had the operation performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who also operated other big MMA stars like Conor McGregor, Georges St-Pierre, and Francis Ngannou.

While the fighter didn’t share when he’s exactly coming back, he suggested that the healing time of his latest operation won’t further delay his octagon return, which is reportedly set for mid-2024.

“Back out here in California with Dr. ElAttrache, this time instead of doing a pec repair, we are working on my left elbow,” Jones shared. “I’m actually about one hour off the table. We had a two-hour surgery shaving down some bone spurs. The good news is it’s about a 10-week healing process, and I’m out for months anyway, because of this pec surgery, so I thought I’d just kill two birds and get this elbow taken care of once and for all.”

The news follows Tom Aspinall’s latest tirade against the Jones vs. Miocic fight, focusing on the latter this time. To recall, the Briton has always been vocal about his intent to fight any of the two, especially Jones. However, the UFC is determined to push the fight. Nonetheless, Miocic recently addressed the young fighter, promising him a fight once he snatched the belt from Jones.
