UFC 202 was well and truly amazing. Whether you are a fan of Nate Diaz or Conor McGregor, the main event delivered. The second part of their rivalry is now in the books after a thrilling five-round encounter last night.
The memory of McGregor’s UFC 196 loss to Diaz is somewhat more distant now. That said, a third fight is almost certain now that it’s 1-1. Diaz was able to land some great shots on McGregor in both fights, but last night the ball was in the Irishman’s court.
The Outstanding Rematch
Fans in attendance at the T-Mobile Arena for UFC 202 got to see what these two guys are famous for. Excellent fighting skills were on show, with neither man willing to back down for even a second.
McGregor was able to land numerous knockdowns early on, but Diaz rallied back later in the fight. When all was said and done, McGregor vs. Diaz 2 was a hard fight to score. The bout earned fight of the night honours.
Who Won?
The official judges decision was handed down, and Conor McGregor received the victory by majority decision. One judge scored the fight a draw, with both other judges giving ‘The Notorious’ the nod.
But the strike stats make for a very interesting read.
