As if things couldn’t get any worse for light heavyweight contender Glover Teixeira, a video circulating the web shows Anthony Johnson connected with the uppercut that ended the fight landed so cleanly that it may have knocked a tooth loose.
Rumble Smash!
The two fighters met in the co-main event of UFC 202 which took place Saturday, August 20 at the brand spanking new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Speed and power
“Rumble” Johnson needed a mere 13 seconds to finish off Teixeira in a highly-anticipated clash of MMA big men. After an extremely brief feeling-out and range-finding process, Johnson uncorked a vicious uppercut that exploded on Teixeira’s jaw. He was out before he hit the mat.
A couple of follow-up hammer fists ensued for good measure, but were totally unnecessary as Teixeira’s eyes were already glazed over via the uppercut from hell.
