Two-time UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw is already being linked to a massive super fight with a fellow champion…

With the dust starting to settle on a massive weekend of fights, fans can look back in awe at UFC 217. Hosting three title fights, the pay-per-view event at MSG in New York saw three champions fall.

Stepping up to middleweight, former welterweight king Georges St-Pierre made history. GSP defeated Michael Bisping to claim the 185-pound title and become the only champion in history to hold belts at middle and welterweight.

St-Pierre joins BJ Penn, Randy Couture and Conor McGregor in the list of two-weight world champs.

During the co-main event, Cody Garbrandt hoped to take out rival TJ Dillashaw in defense of the UFC bantamweight title. Although he’d done very well in slandering ‘The Viper’ before Saturday night, Garbrandt fell in the second round.

What’s next for Dillashaw? Most likely it won’t be a rematch with Garbrandt.

Uncle Dana Says…

During the UFC 217 post-fight presser, UFC president Dana White dropped Mighty Mouse into the equation again. Before breaking Anderson Silva’s title defense record, Demetrious Johnson was called out by TJ Dillashaw.

Citing bullying by the UFC, the flyweight champion declined and instead smashed Ray Borg. Now that Dillashaw can make it a super fight, White believes there’s no excuse to turn him down.

Predictably, DW wasn’t so positive when mentioning Johnson, as per MMAFighting.com:

Mighty Mouse vs. TJ

“He’s been crying for a long time for a big fight,” White said of Johnson at the UFC 217 press conference at New York’s Madison Square Garden. “He’s got his big fight now. You know I’m down for it because I was down for it before, but now it’s even better. They both have belts, so, yeah.”

“He’s a partner in the pay-per-view,” White said. “Let’s see what your PPV does, you’re a partner, let’s see what you make. Listen, you can’t be in a position where you’re like “I want $2 million, f*ck you, I don’t care what you make. I don’t care how much this thing sells, I just want $2 million.”

But what about the weight?

Dillashaw maintains he would be able to make 125 pounds, and Dana maintains a champion’s health is not his concern:

“The reason why I look so lean at 135 pounds is the way I work,” Dillashaw said. “I put muscle on, I’m not a big 135er. A walk around at 150, you know? But I stack on, I stay lean, I keep my diet, I’ve kept on my diet since The Ultimate Fighter.”

“It’s not up to me to feel confident about it” White said. “It’s him. Does he feel confident he can make the weight, and he was very confident when I talked to him that he could do it.”
