Oh, Russia. You have to love it. The land of bears, vodka and beautiful women with intimidating accents. The Joker to the US’s Batman. What would we do without the world’s biggest country? Things would be a lot less interesting, that’s for sure. Even President Putin is almost likeable because he’s so similar to a James Bond villain.

The nation where east meets west is famous for its eclectic sports. In short, anything seems to go. Russian men are some of the toughest in the world. You really do not want to mess with them because let’s face it: they’re probably harder than you are.

As well as vodka, Russia has also given us professional slapping contests. Yes, that’s right. What’s more, is that it is way more brutal than you might expect. Now there’s been a major shock in the sport. Pro slapping’s most dominant champion has been knocked out in his first loss. Check out the clip below.

Pure Violence

First of all, this must be the most brutal sport on the planet. Forget Muay Thai, Lethwei and all the rest of them. In professional slapping, you face off against your opponent across a table. Then you literally take it in turns to violently palm each other in the face. You can’t move away. The only thing you can do is grip the table and brace yourself for an immediate impact.

Needless to say, this can’t be good for your brain. We’re not sure if these guys can spell CTE though. They’re not worried about it, are they? Vasily Kamotskiy was the sport’s dominant champion but now there is a new king in town.

KO

In short, he was brutally finished for the first time when he faced off against Vyacheslav Zezulya. The pair were competing in the main event of Male Slapping Championships. The first event went down earlier this year in Siberia, where Kamotskiy established himself as champion.

However, the champion was the one who got melted. All it took was one blow from Zezulya and he faceplanted a metal bar. In short, he suffered a bloody concussion. That is as violent a finish as you will ever see. Then his team dragged him to the hospital. Not a happy ending to the night for the former champion.

Recovery

Later footage showed Kamotskiy tucking into a plate of dumplings. Weighing in at 300lbs, he actually goes by the nickname ‘Dumpling’ because he loves them so much. He also had nothing bad to say about his opponent who won on the night. The former champion told RT Sport:

“It was a good hook, I liked it. I was put to sleep for a little bit. I could have carried on, but they grabbed me and wanted to get me out of there.”

You’ve got to love his enthusiasm anyway. We think he may be part bear but who knows with these Siberian wild men. Someone needs to bring this to the US. Can you imagine Deontay Wilder doing this? Luke Rockhold just went out cold thinking about it.
