Mike Perry, who will fight for the “King of Violence” title at BKFC 56, believes that Jake Paul and Logan Paul are just using his name for “credibility.” After taking offers as a backup opponent for the brothers, the BKFC fighter has decided to no longer take such a role unless he is offered “the fights.”
It can be recalled that Perry took the offer to be a backup for the past opponents of the Paul brothers in the past. Most recently, he was reserved for the England fight between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis. As part of the role, the bare-knuckle boxer had to prepare for a possible bout and attend press conferences without “any face time, any camera time, any attention.” With this, while his effort was paid for a certain amount, Perry started questioning his position and the “f****** pointless” check he received.
“Guys want a little bit of credibility, and they use my name to try get it,” Perry told MMAFightingonSBN during an interview. “But you don’t get that credibility unless you’re in the ring with me.”
With all those things, Perry suggested that he might no longer accept backup offers again, stressing what he wants are real fights.
“The real fans, the committed ones, know that there’s a difference when I step into that ring as compared to all the trash talk or the interviews or the media,” said Perry. “I’m not your best speaker. I’m more of a damn scrapper. That’s what I want. I want the fights.
“…If there’s a good chance that someone’s not coming, and I get the full fight and the full paycheck for the fight and get me some damn respect throughout the week, but yeah, really I just want to fight,” Perry said. “F*** all that bulls***.
“I prepared complete for a fight, and I deserve to have my name on the poster and everything that comes with it.”
