Myktybek Orolbai made a remarkable entrance at UFC by defeating Uros Medic via submission at UFC Fight Night 232. Making things more impressive for the Kyrgyzstan folk is his preparation for the fight, which he accepted on a 4-day short notice.

The fight lasted until Round 2, but at its 4:12 mark, Orolbai made powerful wrestling moves, allowing him to lock the opponent. This forced Medic to tap and end the fight, catching his breath.

Orolbai was quick to realize how great his performance was in this welterweight bout. Nonetheless, the fighter shared that he would be aiming for the lightweight division in the future, promising supporters more actions inside the cage.

“I took the fight on short notice, and the game plan was to come in and do everything that I was able to do,” Orolbai said via an interpreter post-fight. “This is just the beginning for me. I’m going to be fighting at 155. I was only able to do 170 on short notice, but fans can expect to see a lot more from me, including much more striking.”

While the victory is good news for Orolbai, it ended the two-fight success of Medic against Matthew Semelsberger And Omar Morales. With this, Orolbai gets the record of 12-1-1 MMA/1-0 UFC, while Medic receives 9-2 MMA/3-2 UFC.
