UFC’s Return To Dublin
McGregor had barely got his foot in the door at the UFC when he started making lofty predictions about what he was going to do there.
Even in the aftermath of his debut win over Marcus Brimage back in 2013, reporters were already quizzing Dana White about McGregor’s bold proclamations.
“Conor recently said he’s going to single-handedly convince you to drag the UFC back to Ireland,” a reporter asked White backstage. “Did he do enough to persuade you tonight?”
“Yeah, I believe him!” White responded without hestiation.
Sure enough, a little over a year later the UFC returned to Ireland for only the second time in their history after a five year absence for a ‘Fight Night’ show headlined by none other than Conor McGregor.
