UFC lightweight Nate Diaz continues to taunt Conor McGregor and his fanbase amid rumors of a potential trilogy fight. Diaz goes in-depth on their first fight at UFC 196…

Nate Diaz’s rivalry with Conor McGregor started with an unlikely set of circumstances. Nobody expected Diaz to come in and rock the MMA world on 12 days notice, but he did just that.

After Rafael dos Anjos pulled out of his lightweight title fight with McGregor, Diaz was offered a short-notice 170-pound match the promotion likely expected him to lose. In typical Diaz fashion, he came in and flipped the script.

McGregor tapped out after being rocked on the feet, exactly two years and six days ago and everybody is still talking about it. Perhaps the fact their second fight was very close has kept fans very intrigued in a third match between the two.

Even McGregor has recently acknowledged the potential trilogy against his old rival.

Nate Claims McGregor Was KO’d

Outside silly money fights in the world of boxing, there are three seriously salivating prospects for McGregor’s next fight. Dependent on who wins at UFC 223, we have Khabib Nurmagomedov or Tony Ferguson, and of course Nate.

Maybe sensing the opportunity, Diaz has been in the media again recently, after all the hoo-ha about his 2018 UFC return, giving more insight on his rivalry with McGregor:

“That happens to me in fights a lot.” Diaz said. “I start teeing off on them and they shoot and it’s like ‘Oh, I got choked.’ You got choked on purpose, because it was the easy way out. You didn’t want to get hit anymore.

“I wish if I could do it all again, I would have just kept hitting his ass because of all the backlash I got.”

“All this ‘Nate’s jiu-jitsu was better,’ I’m like ‘No, you got knocked out.” Diaz continued. “You got knocked out. But, you shot.’ It was a way out. It was like quitting.”

“That was a knockout. You know what I’m saying?”

Diaz isn’t the only one doing the talking, though, as Clay Guida pulled out a classic slating of his former opponent on Instagram:

“Yo, what’s up 209 bitch?” said Guida. “Yeah, I’m talking about you Nate Diaz. We scrapped it out about nine years ago, but maybe it was a fluke. So, what do you say we do it one more time for the fans? And when you sign on that dotted line, before you get into the cage, make sure you get real, real high this time. So when I spike you on your head and put you in a full nelson like last time, you won’t feel a thing. See you in Chicago, homie.”
