Dustin Poirier Fight
With an 8-2 UFC record and riding a three-fight winning streak, Dustin Poirier looked like being a tough test for McGregor in his fourth Octagon outing in 2014, but ‘The Notorious’ thought otherwise.
“I am going to crack him with a jab and he is going to wobble and I am going to put him away early,” McGregor confidently declared. “It is going to be a first round finish, mark my words.”
McGregor was almost spot on with his estimation of how the fight would play out.
To be fair it wasn’t a jab that hurt Poirier, although technically he did land a jab a split second before a grazing left hook behind the ear sent ‘The Diamond’ to the canvas, leaving a few follow-up punches to seal a TKO victory just 1.46minutes into the fight.
