The UFC really doesn’t like Nate Diaz…

After spending pretty much his entire career fighting for the UFC, Nate Diaz is in an odd position. Outside of Pancrase and his single fight for ‘Warrior Cup,’ Diaz has fought for the UFC, or Zuffa owned businesses.

Following the recent sale of the UFC to WME-IMG, the possibility of change was there. Unfortunately change came, but headed in a worrying direction. For Diaz, his treatment by the UFC, if anything, has gotten worse.

Diaz Exposes More BS

Perhaps they aren’t the easiest duo to negotiate with, but the Diaz brothers are entertainers. Fighting like their lives depend on it, both men always turn up ready to throw down. When Nate beat McGregor almost a year ago to this day, he finally got that big payday and a ton of recognition.

UFC Trying To Screw Nate Diaz (Again)

Speaking with MMAJunkie.com, Diaz says the UFC has been trying to screw him out of promotional work outside of MMA. Diaz recently appeared in a movie trailer for Ice Cube and Charlie Day’s ‘Fist Fight.’ The UFC tried really hard to knock him out of that gig:

“The UFC is like, ‘We’re thinking GSP or Conor McGregor,’ ” Diaz said. “My guy said, ‘Don’t worry, we’re going to use Nate.’ They came back to say, ‘We really think you should use GSP or Conor.’

“I don’t know what it is. I’m not a white boy with blue eyes or great looking, I talk all (messed) up. I’m not the look they’re going for, but this is fighting. You don’t go for a look. You go for the baddest that’s out there. This is an example of my whole career.”

UFC 209 Fumble

Aware of the irony of last weekend’s huge UFC 209 failure, Nate says the promotion really should have approached him to fight:

“It (would have made) so much sense,” he added. “But I wasn’t sad. I feel like (UFC officials) were put off by it, like they were saying, ‘We don’t need you.’ Well, that’s a big ball drop for you guys. Look at your card.

“They try to shut us down. With Conor, they made a star out of him. They have never done that for me. I’m still here after all the holding back I’ve been through. They’ve never put my name on a pedestal. If they had my back the whole way, I’d be like, ‘UFC, all day, don’t be dissing my company like that,’ but why would I do that for a company that does this?”
