UFC initially booked Leon Edwards vs Nate Diaz to be the first 5 round non title co-main event fight but due to Diaz’s unfortunate injury, the fight has been rescheduled for the next PPV event which is UFC 263.

Well it may be unfortunate for the PPV event of UFC 262 since it only consisted of one title fight and Nate Diaz was supposed to draw to crowd more given he is a fan favorite to casual fans. Will it affect the UFC 262 PPV buys? There is still one big fight Tony Ferguson vs Beneil Dariush which will likely be the co-main event.

As for Leon Edwards, he could just not catch a break. From not fighting due to lockdown, testing positive for COVID and when he did his comeback fight it ended in a no contest due to an accidental eye poke. Talk about bad luck, but we all know how mentally tough Leon Edwards is, even Usman went on to say that Edwards had that unbreakable mentality.

If the fight is rescheduled for UFC 263, we might be seeing a super stacked PPV card, since it already features two title fights, Adesanya vs Vettori and Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno. To top it all off, we are going to see a five round fight that is not even a non title co-main event, just shows Nate Diaz’s starpower.
