5. vs. Marcus Davis UFC 118

This was an important fight for Marcus Davis. The “Irish Hand Grenade” was 3-3 in his last 6 fights; at 37 he needed to string some wins together or he was done. This fight was also in Boston, basically the hometown for any American of Irish background.

Unfortunately for Davis however, he didn’t win. Instead he got bloodied up and tapped out in the 3rd round.

For Nate it was his 2nd straight win at welterweight, so it looked like he would stay at that weight. Nate would drop his next two in the division however, including getting absolutely rag dolled by Rory MacDonald at UFC 129. He would drop back down to lightweight after that.
