Global Pro Wrestling Superstar Triple H Managed to Tear His Pectoral Muscle During a Training Session… And it’s Incredibly Nasty Looking…
OK, guys: before the haters start, we know professional wrestling is fake. We also know that most of you don’t care about it, even though you’re probably secretly excited by the sight of Ronda Rousey in spandex. This article isn’t about professional wrestling as an industry, it’s about the physical trauma that athletes go through to prepare for it.
One of the most legendary names in the industry is Triple H. ‘The Game’ is 49 years old, yet still manages to hang with the best of them, keeping himself in incredible shame and putting his body on the line for the entertainment of the masses.
It’s the latter part that we want to focus on because he managed to tear his pectoral muscle the other day. He posted a picture to social media which you can see below, and it’s gnarly.

Hardcore
Whatever you think about professional wrestling, you’ve got to admit that Triple H is a badass. He’s been going strong with the WWE, joining way back in 1995, when it was still the WWF. Now he’s also the Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative for the corporation.
Triple H was competing in a tag-team match between D-Generation X and The Brothers of Destruction. Despite suffering the agonizing injury, he forced himself to fight through the pain and picked up the win for his team by pinning Kane.
Out of surgery, happy to report all is well. Thanks to excellent medical care of Dr. Dugas and his team and all the well wishes, messages, tweets, and texts I got over the weekend.

Determination
This isn’t the first time that Triple H has forced his body to fight through adversity. He battled through a torn quadricep way back in 2001, still managing to complete a match. Sure, he might not be competing in a bonafide sport, but there’s no doubt that the veteran wrestler has shown incredible heart and physical endurance to be able to fight through such debilitating injuries and maintain his fitness for so long. He tweeted:
“Out of surgery, happy to report all is well. Thanks to excellent medical care of Dr. Dugas and his team and all the well wishes, messages, tweets, and texts I got over the weekend. Road to recovery starts… NOW. #GameTime .”
Remarkable
As well as being a remarkable wrestler, Triple H is also a fascinating human being. Born Paul Levesque, he first competed in 1993 under the name Terra Ryzing. His legacy in the industry doesn’t really need much more discussion because he’s basically been there and done it all.
Since 2010 he’s been heavily involved in the business side of the company, initially as an Executive Senior Advisor. He’s been a big part of Ronda Rousey’s introduction to the WWE and has often played the role of antagonist in many rivalries and feuds.
Levesque has been heavily criticized in later years by many observers who believe it’s time he stepped out of the public eyes because he basically doesn’t have the physical condition to put on the performances of old. Basically, he’s been accused of stealing shows. A look at that injury and his ability to persevere shows why fans still love him though.
