One Championship delivered another memorable event this weekend to fans, with ONE 165 concluding with surprising results from the promotion’s fighters.
In the event, different kickboxing and MMA bouts were presented, with one particular fight being unexpected. Hours before their match, Sage Northcutt withdrew from facing Shinya Aoki, allowing John Lineker to step on very short notice. This resulted in a victorious submission win for the Japanese fighter, who is expected to retire after this fight.
ONE 165 also hosted a catchweight special rules bout between Yoshihiro Akiyama and Nieky Holzken. It was supposed to be a three-round fight featuring different sports (boxing, Muay Thai, and MMA) in each round, but the Dutch fighter ended it right away in Round 1 with a TKO win.
