Oscar De La Hoya is back and he has a crushing statement for McGregor vs. Mayweather fans…
Former world champion and double Olympic gold medallist Oscar De La Hoya is dead against Mayweather vs. McGregor. That’s no secret, as was made obvious by his angry letter to fans last week.
UFC president Dana White fired back with his own rant to ODLH, but now the ‘Golden Boy’ has gone a step further.
De La Hoya Goes on Sportscenter
Still clearly upset by the fight that he claims will ‘hurt’ boxing, owner of Golden Boy Promotions Oscar De La Hoya went on SC earlier today. Check out what he said:
“My response is I have to take the high road. He says my fight sucks, I say the same thing, his fight sucks. McGregor is not a boxer, he doesn’t have a single round of experience inside the boxing ring. He’s the best MMA fighter, the best UFC fighter. I have all the respect in the world for him, for the UFC, for what he’s done.
But he is not a boxer, and he’s going up against the best boxer in the world here, in our generation? Against Mayweather, and he’s 0-0, and he thinks he’s gonna beat him? It’s impossible, I couldn’t beat him! It’s going to be a 12-round boxing fest. That’s all it’s gonna be, Mayweather boxes, he’s a boxer.”

ODLH Is Mad
You cannot go in there with zero experience and box Mayweather, it’s not possible. When Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao took place, it set the sport back. It was a dud. It’s just like Canelo and Chavez, Chavez didn’t show up for a fight, people were disappointed. I made GGG vs. Canelo in order to bring back those fans, and give fight fans a real fight.
What happens in the sport of boxing, that I’m an expert in, it’s going to be entertaining because in the first few rounds. People are going to want to see Mayweather get knocked out, but for the next nine rounds it’s going to be boring, Mayweather is going to figure him out and box him. We know what’s going to happen. It’s going to be an easy fight for him.”

De La Hoya wasn’t the only one upset about this fight, as former champ Ricky Hatton told TMZ via MMAMania:
“If he’s the UFC’s biggest name and he doesn’t lay a glove on Floyd — which no disrespect, I could actually see that happen — I think there is only one organization that is going to come off worse or one sport.”

“I am a boxer, but I am fan of UFC. But, if he is UFC’s biggest name and what I think happens in the fight, happens in the fight, it could be a bit embarrassing and I wouldn’t like to see that happen to Conor, because I love him to bits. I think he is good for sports, good for entertainment,” he added. “If the truth be known, I would like Conor to splatter him. My heart says it, but my mind says no, he probably wouldn’t [beat him],”
