Conor McGregor Has Gone in Hard on Khabib Nurmagamedov’s Teammate Zubaira Tukagov on Instagram…
‘The Notorious’ is stepping up the mind games as he targets individual members of Khabib Nurmagamedov’s team. Yesterday it was Khabib’s father Abdulmanap Nurmagamedov who received the brunt of Conor McGregor’s ire. Today it was Zubaira Tukagov, one of the Dagestani’s closest confidantes and training partners, who came under attack.
Tukagov was involved in Khabib’s attempt to intimidate McGregor’s friend, training partner and fellow UFC fighter Artem Lobov in the run-up to UFC 226. That triggered the Irishman’s drastic response. He assembled a gang of about 20 friends, entered Brooklyn’s Barclay Center, and waged a dramatic assault on the media bus carrying Nurmagamedov.
Khabib’s teammate will now face off against Tukagov at UFC Fight Night 138, which will take place in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. That will take place after McGregor’s eagerly anticipated fight against Khabib Nurmagamedov at the beginning of October. McGregor went in hard on Tukagov’s betrayal of his fellow Chechen.
Treason
McGregor went in hard on Tukagov. He accused him of treason for attempting to attack and intimidate a fellow Chechen, under the command of a Dagestani. It’s all very dramatic, but of course, that’s what you’d expect from ‘The Notorious.” He wrote:
“A true Chechen would never assist in a Dagestani led attack on another Chechen. A true Chechen would never take orders from a Dagestani Man. This is treason. There is no worse than treason.”
It’s fantastic to see McGregor’s burgeoning knowledge of Russian geopolitics. Obviously, he put his time hanging around with Vladimir Putin to good use. You can see footage of Khabib’s attempt to intimidate Lobov below.
Aggressive
Clearly, McGregor is on the attack. He targeted Khabib’s father Abdulmanap yesterday in a post calling him a coward. The Dagestani is one of the most respected coaches in Russia and will get his first chance to corner Khabib in a UFC fight, on October 6, after US President Donald Trump personally intervened to secure him a work visa.
“@abdulmanap.nurmagomedov I can see you,” McGregor wrote. “Cowering behind fake respect. Just like your middle child. A quivering coward.”

Toxic Rivalry
This rivalry is clearly going to escalate. The first press conference with the two men is expected to take place in the first week of September. That will definitely provide some more highlight moments.
Conor McGregor will attempt to reclaim the UFC lightweight title from Khabib Nurmagamedov on October 6, in Las Vegas’s T-Mobile Arena. Derrick Lewis will fight Alexander Volkov in a heavyweight title eliminator in the co-main event.
