Conor McGregor is Definitely Not Impressed By Floyd Mayweather’s Offer to Let Him Train at his Los Angeles Gym…

Conor McGregor is training hard for his upcoming fight against Khabib Nurmagamedov but that hasn’t stopped him from taking pot-shots at a former opponent. The Irish fighter responded angrily after Mayweather condescendingly offered to let him train at his gym in Los Angeles.

Mayweather and McGregor fought in August 2017, in what was essentially a boxing exhibition. Driven by enormous hype, ‘The Notorious’ walked away with a cool $100 million while Mayweather earned twice that amount. Both men are in the top five richest athletes on the Forbes Rich List.

Yesterday, Mayweather warned Khabib Nurmagamedov to be careful of McGregor because he will dedicate his entire being to beat the Russian. In an angry tweet, McGregor basically told the American boxing legend where to go. You can read what he had to say below:

No Peace

In case you’re wondering why McGregor might be less than enthusiastic about training at Mayweather’s gym, the American has a boxing combination written out on a poster, called ‘The McGregor’. It’s the very combination that he used to end the fight in Round 10.

Anyway, McGregor did not hold back when he saw Mayweather’s offer. He ripped into ‘Money’, making it clear that he was not amused. He wrote:

“F**k the Mayweathers, except Senior and Roger. There is no peace here kid. Step up or step down.”

Naturally, in this age of social media, fighters throw more digs at each other online than in the ring or octagon. Mayweather saw that he had rattled the Irish fighter and took full advantage. At the end of the day he won their fight, so he’ll always have the bragging rights. He captioned an Instagram post:

“Easiest 9 figures I ever made! All work is what? #mayweatherpromotions #TMT #TBE”

McGregor still contends that he basically got rich off fighting with a load of rules designed to protect Mayweather. He believes that if he fought ‘Money’ in the octagon, the boxer would be absolutely demolished.

Mayweather’s involvement is only serving to heighten the intensity of preparations for the fight between Khabib and McGregor. The Russian Sambo specialist is probably sitting back with a plate of tiramisu enjoying this. As the old saying goes: my enemy’s enemy is my friend.

Could we see Mayweather and Nurmagamedov train together? Now that would be something very interesting. There’s no better defensive boxer on the planet. While it is arguably too late for him to learn new schools, a bit of work with Mayweather could only help Khabib’s footwork and dynamic movement.

Who knows what will happen next? The two men will fight on October 6 in the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, at UFC 229.
