This Feud Shows No Signs of Going Anywhere… Nate Diaz Has Fired Shots at the UFC… Again…

One of the biggest headlines from last week in the MMA world was Nate Diaz’s apparent rage with the UFC about Conor McGregor fighting against Khabib Nurmagamedov at UFC 229. Diaz has been booked against fellow lightweight contender Dustin Poirier to compete in the co-main event of UFC 230. Neither are happy.

It’s believed that the two men want to be on the same card as McGregor and Khabib, because of the lucrative benefits that will come out of that. It would also be an opportunity for them to challenge the victor and increase their profiles.

Diaz hasn’t fought since his second fight against McGregor, back at UFC 205. He lost that fight via decision, although many people believe that he has a claim to a second win over the Notorious. Anyway, he isn’t happy and he’s fired more shots at the UFC.

Not Impressed

As you can see from the tweet above, Diaz is not happy right now with the UFC and is refusing to guarantee that he will fight the Diamond when UFC 230 comes around in November. He tweeted:

“I can’t commit when they actin like s**t…”

While it doesn’t directly mention the UFC, it is fairly obvious who he is talking about considering the ridiculous fallout he had last week, and his rant about McGregor and Nurmagamedov being his “b***h’s”.

What Next?

According to Dana White, the UFC have had no direct contact with Diaz since their press conference last week. He had no update for ESPN’s Brett Okamoto. When questioned, he replied:

“You tell me if everything’s alright with Diaz. What would we talk about? His lawsuit? I don’t know what he’s talking about.”

The UFC is currently operating under a system of if we ignore it, the problem will go away. You can tell that this isn’t over. Diaz has had his differences with the company in the past – as has his older brother Nick. It’s unfortunate for the fans who want to see him back.

Support

It might make Diaz feel better to know that he has the support of Miesha Tate. The former bantamweight queen said that she would be annoyed if she was in Diaz’s position. She told Sirius XM Fight Nation:

“I would feel the same way as Nate does. Nate has a different personality than I do, he’s expressive in a different way, but of course. I remember when I threatened retirement because I was so pissed off that they had promised that I would fight Ronda and then they ended up switching that out and having Holly but they didn’t tell me. It’s the same thing that happened to Nate, essentially, it’s just that Nate was in front of everybody. I was pissed too, believe me.”

What do you think? Is Diaz right to feel aggrieved? Or is he just being naive, because Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmgamedov is the biggest fight in MMA right now? This is a messy situation.
