Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is apparently being pursued again…

Up until December 2015, Ronda Rousey was all things MMA, let alone the sole face of women’s MMA at that time. Her outlandish behaviour and dominant performances made ‘Rowdy’ a household name.

She was indeed the promotion’s biggest pay-per-view draw, another first for women’s MMA. Two years and two brutal knockouts later, the sport has moved past Rousey, who doesn’t appear to be putting up a fight.

During a presser for women’s MMA held by the UFC this week, Rousey’s name wasn’t even mentioned. No matter how you feel about her, Rousey is no doubt the pioneering force behind women’s success in the UFC.

Ronda’s Choice

Having given her first interview since UFC 207 last week, Rousey appears to be in good spirits. Although she still refuses to talk about fighting, apparently the new UFC owners aren’t that coy.

According to MiddleEasy.com, ‘Rowdy’s’ talent agency WME-IMG, who also just bought the UFC, are seeking ‘one last dance’ from the ex-champ this year:

Crazy if true but now getting too loud to ignore. Not so quietly the UFC is trying to work with Ronda Rousey to get her back for one more pay-per-view this year. The talks are early and it would take the right situation for Rousey to even consider one more UFC fight but the rumors are there. Currently none other than Miesha Tate is the frontrunner for a possible Rowdy return at the UFC’s New Year’s Eve card in Vegas.

Could It Be?

Considering their large debt and shameless money seeking antics, it would surprise no one if WME are really doing this. Rousey, although once a great champ, clearly doesn’t have the lust to fight any longer, or even talk about it for that matter.

Should she choose to return, however unlikely that may seem, it may well prove more foolish than going up against Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.

Rousey Speaks

“We stopped by the house right before we were going to go to the airport and he was going to sneak away and go ask my mom for permission but right when we got to the house, we realized we were robbed. Someone had been squatting in my house for like three days, sleeping in my bed.

“[They] stole my Olympic rings, stole my guns, stole all my precious jewelry, every headphone in the house, credit cards.”

“We have security cameras so we looked back at them and we saw that they were a bunch of kids with skateboards and there’s a famous skate park right across the street cause we’re in Venice. So my man’s 6’7” like 260 [pounds], he like beelines it straight to the skateboard park, finds the guys right away.

“He’s smart enough not to [hit them], we’ll get sued pretty hard, but he found the police right then and they caught them.”
