Shane Mosley on being asked to throw a fight:
A slimy promoter offered Mosley $1 million to lose a fight. Mosley refused, and instead won by knockout. from the timeline of this story, this fight happened after the 1st De La Hoya fight, and before his 4 losses. The 3 fights on his record between those dates are against Antonio Diaz, Shannan Taylor, and Adrian Stone.
The story continues with stories of Shane getting sick before fights because of things being slipped into his food and water. He also claims that he was set up for steroids “on some Balco shit,” money was stolen from him and he was constantly scammed by women. Still, Mosley never quit.
Shane lost a few fights during the time that he “lost himself,” he had some personal issues and injuries that kept him from prime condition.He sometimes fought injured took fights just for the money after his messy divorce left him broke.
