5. Robin Black
MMA analyst Robin Black isn’t just a former MMA fighter, he is a former glam rock star!
His band “Robin Black and the Intergalactic Rockstars” achieved a mild amount of fame in the early to mid 2000s. Black was an experienced Tae Kwon Do practitioner, and when he moved to Toronto he began training at Xtreme Couture Toronto with fighters such as Mark Bocek and Mark Hominick.
In 2008 with MMA on the rise and glam rock on a down turn, Black put his rockstar life on hold to focus on giving fighting a try. He didn’t do that well. Fighting mainly on small shows he racked up a 4W-5L record but ended up getting a gig reporting on MMA for Canada’s “Fight Network”.
