English MMA fighter Tom Aspinall recently had a talk with UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping, sharing what advantages he has over his rival Sergei Pavlovich. According to Aspinall, his unforeseeable attacks could aid him in defeating the Russian alongside his black-belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu prowess.

The two fighters will face each other on Saturday to fight for the interim heavyweight championship at UFC 295. Whoever wins could face the winner of the Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic fight next year. Aspinall, who said that the idea of fighting Jones is “incredible” and his “absolute dream,” will definitely push to win this game.

In his recent talk with Bisping, Aspinall expressed confidence in winning this fight, mentioning his advantages over his opponent. As the English mixed martial artist pointed out, his unpredictable moves would ensure this success.

“I think the biggest issue he’s got is I move unlike any other heavyweight,” said Aspinall. “I do things completely different, completely unconventional to anyone else in the heavyweight division… I do multiple attacks, multiple fakes, I can grapple, I can strike, I can do all of it. He has no idea what I can really bring to the table.

“We’ve seen him minimal time on his back. From what I’ve seen, he hasn’t looked great, I’ll be honest. He got finished, he got knocked out from that start. But at the same time, this is heavyweight MMA…big guy like [Alistair Overeem] bringing down punches and elbows on you, it’s hard to get up. But if I put someone on their back, they’re getting finished.”

This follows Bisping’s statement highlighting the huge capability of Aspinall to defeat Pavlovich. According to Bisping, not only is Aspinall winning this bout, but he could also beat Jon Jones in case the two are put into a match, adding the 30-year-old English fighter “will retire as the greatest heavyweight champion that the UFC has ever seen.”

“I believe he [Aspinall] makes it look relatively easy [against Pavlovich],” Bisping told TNT Sports. “…I think the skill set that he has, has got all the ingredients to get him the win here. …I think he beats Jon Jones if that comes up… and he will retire as the greatest heavyweight champion that the UFC has ever seen.”
