Donald Cerrone vs. Marcus Sursa
A love triangle involving fighters Donald Cerrone, Marcus Sursa and ring-girl Lindsey Sheffield led to a behind-the-scenes battle at Evolution Combat Sports in New Mexico back in 2010.
Sursa, a light-heavyweight who was scheduled to fight in the main event that evening, had previously dated Sheffield, a former ring girl for the Shark Fights promotion.
However, Sheffield had since moved on to date with Cerrone (who she is still with to this day) and apparently there was no love lost between the two fighters when they spotted each other backstage.
Words were soon exchanged and a shoving match broke out between them according to Sursa, who claims that Cerrone then hit him with a right hand, cutting his eyeball in the process.
Sursa claims he then pushed ‘Cowboy’, kicked him and knocked him down, before his dad intervened and pulled him away, leaving Cerrone with a bloodied lip.
Due to the eye injury he sustained, Sursa’s headlining fight that evening had to be cancelled.
