Josh Burkman vs. Sammy Morgan
Sammy Morgan suffered one of the most devastating knockouts you’re ever likely to see against Josh Burkman at The Ultimate Fighter 2 Finale in 2006.
Only 21 seconds into the fight Morgan was rendered unconscious after Burkman worked a slam off a trip takedown that was made all the more brutal by the fact that his head was resting on the side of his opponent’s face as it impacted on the mat.
The slam knocked Morgan out cold, leaving his arms rigidly frozen in position and a lifeless expression in his wide open eyes.
Worse still, before the referee could get to them Burkman landed a further three sickening elbows to the head, making this the kind of knockout where you really feared for the fighter’s safety afterwards.
