No.5: Brian Ortega vs. Frankie Edgar

With an undefeated record of 13-0 and having gone six fights unbeaten in the UFC, Brian Ortega was hammering on the door of featherweight title contention in early 2018, but instead had to face the daunting prospect of going up against perennial top contender Frankie Edgar before he could get to the champion Max Holloway.

Late in the first round, Ortega managed to put Edgar in trouble after landing a left elbow that seemed to rock him, while more punches landed behind it.

Then Ortega loaded up and put everything he had into a huge uppercut that all but took Edgar off his feet before crashing unceremoniously to the canvas for a spectacular knockout victory.

Not only did the KO book Ortega a title shot, but it also marked the first time Edgar had ever been stopped by strikes in his entire 13-year career.
