10. Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard 2

Maynard lived up to his ‘Bully’ nickname in the opening round of his title fight with Frankie Edgar at UFC 125 by dropping the champion multiple times with big power punches. They had the battered, bloodied Edgar hanging onto his title by a thread. In just a minute on the stool, Edgar remarkably managed to regroup and recuperate his rattled brain enough to come out looking fresh. He put on a strong second round showing that took some of the wind out of Maynard’s sails.

There would be very little to choose between the two in the remaining rounds as Edgar continued to show the heart and cardio of a true champion, while Maynard was still the bigger, harder hitter. He couldn’t find the finish, however, which led to a dramatic split draw ruling from the judges.
