Never Back Down
Former high school football star Jake Tyler (played by Sean Faris) is a troubled and rebellious teen who lives his life in anger brought about by the passing of his father. When his family moves to Orlando, Florida to pursue his younger brother’s budding career in Tennis, Jake struggles to make new friends at his new school.
Invited to a house party by one of the kids at school, Jake is forced into a fist fight with underground MMA rules against a spoiled rich kid who practices MMA. Jake subsequently gets his butt kicked but then goes out and seeks the guidance of a former MMA fighter who owns a local gym.
It’s MMA in a teenie-bopper package complete with music designed to pump you up and make you want to train. The storyline is somewhat cliche, and it can get really cheesy at times but it’s still good TV.
