UFC CEO Dana White announced that the heavyweight fight between Tai Tuivasa and Marcin Tybura is no longer included in the UFC 298 lineup. On a positive note, the executive said that it would just be moved to March 16th as the promotion’s headliner in its UFC Fight Night event.

The two were originally scheduled to meet next month at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. However, the bout was scrapped without the company revealing the actual reason behind the move.

Both are coming from their respective losses in their recent matches, with Tybura having his recent defeat given by Tom Aspinall via TKO last July. Meanwhile, Tuivasa will be desperate for a win to snap his current three-fight skid from Ciryl Gane, Sergei Pavlovich, and Alexander Volkov.

With the said change, the UFC Fight Night event in March now includes the following bouts:

  • Tai Tuivasa vs. Marcin Tybura
  • Thiago Moises vs. Brad Riddell
  • Jafel Filho vs. Ode Osbourne
  • Isaac Dulgarian vs. Christian Rodriguez
  • Bryan Battle vs. Ange Loosa
  • Jaqueline Amorim vs. Cory McKenna
