The initial betting odds for the UFC 300 bout between Deiveson Figueiredo and Cody Garbrandt are now available, with the former opening as the favorite between the two.

Figueiredo and Garbrandt are two of the fighters joining the UFC 300 lineup in April, with the bout first proposed by “No Love.” In his interview, the former bantamweight champ shared his plan to challenge the fellow former champ, believing it will help him get back to the title conversation.

However, the opening betting odds are not on the side of Garbrandt despite being the former champ in the bantamweight division. According to DraftKings, he is a -250 underdog in the match, meaning a $100 bet on him will bring $250. Meanwhile, the oddsmakers are favoring Figueiredo more, making him the -310 favorite. He is expected to bring fans $100 for a $310 bet, suggesting his bigger chance of winning the fight.

This will be the second bantamweight fight of “Deus Da Guerra” after leaving the flyweight division, where he used to be a two-time champ. In his last fight in the said class weight, Figueiredo lost to Brandon Moreno, who defeated him via a TKO (doctor’s stoppage). Nonetheless, the veteran is hopeful he can make another victory in a new division and even made a successful debut by defeating Rob Font via a unanimous decision last month.

On the other hand, Garbrandt, a former champ in the division, is also determined to get back on the top of the class weight. The 32-year-old will be entering the cage with a two-fight winning streak he obtained from Brian Kelleher and Trevin Jones. Aside from his intent to extend this streak, Garbrandt believes that a win over Figueiredo will bring him back to prominence. Prior to their fight’s announcement, many expected that the fighter would rematch Dominick Cruz, whom he defeated via decision back in December 2016 during the UFC 207 event. However, as the American fighter explained, Figueiredo is the key leading to the title shot in the future.
