Conor McGregor is sorry, kind of… Definitely does not like Marc Goddard…

After twice jumping the cage during Bellator 187, Conor has put on a nice sweater, flashed a smile, and let everyone know he is sorry for what happened.

Conor’s action from Bellator 187 went viral and has resulted in many calling on the UFC to hand down a harsh punishment to their lightweight champion.

The Association of Boxing Commissions Released the following statement on the incident:

While the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation (MTDAR) was regulating Bellator 187 in Dublin, Ireland, on November 10, 2017, the following events took place during the Ward vs Redmond bout.

Mr. Conor McGregor who was a spectator at the time, disrupted the event by scaling the cage prior to the conclusion of the bout. Mr. McGregor’s conduct jeopardized the health and safety of the bout participants by delaying necessary medical attention to the fighters that were injured during the round.

In addition, Mr. McGregor assaulted Referee Mark Goddard and a Bellator staff.

The MTDAR has been in consultation with the upper management of the UFC regarding Mr. McGregor’s inappropriate and unacceptable behavior.

The MTDAR has also contacted members of the Association of Boxing Commissioners that have licensed Mr. McGregor in their jurisdictions to inform them of Mr. McGregor’s behavior.

Has Conor Been Punished?

Yesterday, the President of the Association of Boxing Commissions, Mike Mazzulli, stated on the MMA Hour that the UFC contacted him to say Conor had been removed from UFC 219 as punishment.

The only problem with this is that Conor had never been officially added to the show. When asked for comment on Mazzulli’s statements, Conor’s agent, Audie Attar, specifically denied this was the case.

Will Conor Be Punished?

Of note, is that the bout from Dublin was being regulated by the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation.

The Mohegan Tribe is technically a sovereign nation and does not have to answer to any non-Mohegan Tribe governmental body. If they don’t want to do anything about Conor having jumped the cage then they don’t have to. In fact, doing so could potentially hurt ticket sales to their next event. Conor’s involvement on the show received one of, if not the largest reactions of the night.

In order to apologize in the most Eric Cartman way possible, Conor put on a nice sweater and flashed a big grin for Instagram:

Conor McGregor Issues Full Statement

Just look at that face! Conor looks more like a scolded disobedient child than he does an MMA champion. It’s entirely possible Conor is just having a laugh mugging for the camera though.

As it stands now, Conor still has not been added to UFC 219 and the chances of him being so are decreasing quickly.
