What a disappointing end to a main-event. The fight ended in brutal eye poke from Leon Edwards to Belal Muhammad. Going to the fight, many thought that ring rust would be a factor to Edwards’s performance but he was still expected to win, as per the betting odds.
Edwards does not believe in ring rust as long he comes in prepared, although he thinks that it is what Muhammad is hoping to happen. Both fighters come in prepared, and it was Muhammad’s biggest fight as it was his first main-event.
In the first round, Edwards looked pretty good considering he was out of the ring for a long time. It seems the ring rust was not an issue for Edwards. Then in the second round, Edwards landed an eye poke that made Muhammad have a gruesome pain. It was really nasty as Muhammad couldn’t even open his eyes.
Muhammad left the ring crying because he did not want to end the fight that way, but things happen. Of course, Muhammad’s health is of top priority and whether there will be any permanent damage.
Fortunately, Belal Muhammad did not suffer any permanent damage and his vision is coming back. He hopes to run it back with Leon Edwards as it was an unfinished business.

Leon Edwards apologized to Muhammad immediately but not interested in a rematch. He thinks he deserves a title shot which might not be what most fans agree considering he is coming off a long lay off and now a no contest fight where it was his fault.
Obviously, Muhammad is furious with Edward’s statement.

In my opinion, Muhammad definitely deserves a rematch because first off he took the fight on short notice to save the event then it was not his fault for the eye pock but rather on Edward’s side.
