Nunes beat Holm at her own game. A renowned kickboxer with a very impressive record, ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ famously put a striking clinic on Ronda Rousey, before head-kicking her into oblivion and finishing her with ground-and-pound. Nunes did literally the same thing to the former bantamweight champion.
That head kick that she landed was an absolute thunderbolt. On a night where we saw some savage finishes – Ben Askren still doesn’t where he is and Luke Rockhold’s competitive career basically ended – this was up there with the best. Nunes is just quite simply a destroyer.

The champion acknowledged that she’s one of the best in the business. She said that she wanted to beat Holm because she’s one of the only champions that she hadn’t fought before. It was a great night for Nunes with many of her fellow professionals giving her some love online for her achievements.
“A lot of people say, whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” Nunes said in her post-fight interview. “But these belts go home with me!”
That’s for sure. You wouldn’t want to be the person who tries to take them away from her. She’s just a beast.
