Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagamedov Have a History… Now They’ve Been Forced Apart Again by Security, This Time at UFC 239 in Las Vegas…
They’re two of the most high-profile fighters in the history of the UFC. Khabib Nurmagamedov is the current lightweight champion. He’s feared by all of his fellow 155lbers because he basically takes down and brutalizes everybody who is put in front of him. 27-0, including a win over superstar Conor McGregor, says it all.
Meanwhile, Nate Diaz has a cult of personality around him. His ‘keep it real’ attitude has brought him into conflict with the UFC in the past. Back in 2016, he shocked the world by beating Conor McGregor for the first time in the promotion. Finally, after three years on the sidelines, he’s coming back.
The two men were attending UFC 239 and had to be forced apart by security. Check out the clips below. They’ve got a history so maybe it’s not that surprising.

UFC 239 is going down in the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of the UFC’s international fight week. Most of the UFC’s champions are there in attendance as well as some of their more famous contenders. It’s no surprise then that both Nate Diaz and Khabib were invited along.
Apparently, Khabib was sitting with his manager Ali Abdelaziz when Nate Diaz made an effort to go over and antagonize the Russian champion. Both of these men have histories of getting into brawls and security were very quick to get in between them and led Diaz as far away from Khabib as possible.
The footage isn’t great because it came from fans’ phones, but you get the idea. Luckily, this time the security did their job, not like the last time Khabib was in Nevada and flying head kicked Dillon Danis.

The UFC 229 brawl might be the most infamous because of the amount of media coverage of it, but it’s not the only time that these two men have got involved with messy public scuffles. Khabib and Diaz themselves went toe-to-toe at a World Series of Fighting event way in 2015 when their two teams got involved in handbags with each other.
Diaz has a couple more on his resume. He famously exchanged bottles and cans with Conor McGregor at a press conference in 2016, with both men getting massive fines. But definitely, his best brawling moment was at Strikeforce: Nashville back in 2010. If you haven’t seen that, we’ve linked it for you below. You’re welcome.
Both of these men have fights coming up very soon. Khabib will defend his title against interim champion Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi at UFC 242. This is set to be a big test for the Russian as he sets his wrestling against Poirier’s dirty boxing.
Naturally, Khabib is a big favourite going into this one as nobody has ever come close to beating him. Meanwhile, Diaz will be making his comeback against Anthony Poirier in the welterweight division. It’s expected that if he wins he’ll push for that trilogy fight with Conor McGregor. Exciting times are ahead for two of the most compelling fighters in MMA today.
